MARILYN ACKERMAN

M. Arch/ Co-President

Marilyn specializes in historic preservation. She has been breathing new life into old homes for decades. Her work has been featured on Restore America and the History Channel. Previously, a Simons Design Engineer Fellow at Yale. Marilyn received her Bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1981 with departmental honors in studio art. She then received her Master of Architecture degree from Yale School of Architecture in 1988. She has been the president of a regional preservation firm working on private residential structures, National Register Houses, National Landmarks and Museum project open to the public.
She has received grants and research funding from the National Park Service, The Nation Trust for Historic Preservation and the State of Connecticut. She served as faculty at the School of Engineering at the University of Hartford, Wesleyan University Liberal Studies Program, Middlesex Transition Acadamy at Wesleyan, and H.H. Ellis Technical High School right here in the Quiet Corner.
Her experiences and designs bring so much to the table, and she is excited to see what interesting projects the Last Green Valley has to offer!

CHERIE GREEN

Designer/ Co-President

Cherie Green specializes in many different areas of the 3-D design process. She has been managing design projects through the BIM process for years. She is our in house expert of design software. 
Cherie received her first degree in Architecture in 2006. She recently received her Bachelor's degree from Easter CT State University in 2016 with honors. She has worked on many different types of projects from residential homes and subdivisions to BIM design and 3-D coordination in the commercial industry. She is currently working on her Master of Education degree from Eastern CT State University. 
She has served as adjunct CCP faculty at Three Rivers Community College, and is an instructor of Sustainable Architecture at H.H. Ellis Technical High School right here in the Quiet Corner.
Her experiences bring so much to the table, and she is excited to see what interesting projects the Last Green Valley has to offer!
